Privacy Policy for Bubble Level

Effective date: August 3, 2026
Publisher: Value Pattern
App package: com.valuepattern.bubblelevel

This Privacy Policy explains how the Bubble Level Android app (the “App”) accesses, uses, stores, and shares information. If you have questions, contact us at support@valuepattern.com.

Summary

Bubble Level does not require an account and does not send sensor readings, calibration values, settings, or camera images to Value Pattern. Those features are processed on your device. The App does, however, use Google AdMob to display ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage applicable privacy choices. Those Google services may collect and share certain device, usage, diagnostic, and advertising data as described below.

Information used by App features

Motion sensor readings

The App reads available motion and orientation sensors, such as the gravity, rotation-vector, and linear-acceleration sensors, to calculate tilt and render the level. Sensor readings are processed in memory while the App is in use. The App does not save them or transmit them to Value Pattern or Google AdMob.

Camera

If you enable camera passthrough and grant camera permission, the App displays the live rear-camera preview behind the level. Camera frames are not captured to a file, uploaded, or shared. Camera access stops when passthrough is disabled or its screen is no longer active.

Settings and calibration

The App stores calibration values and preferences—such as measurement units, viscosity, fill amount, view mode, theme, sound and haptic settings, large-digit mode, and camera-passthrough preference—locally using Android DataStore. The App does not send this information to Value Pattern.

Android backup is enabled for the App. Depending on your device and Android backup settings, Android may copy locally stored App data to your Google-managed backup and restore it to this or another device. Value Pattern does not receive or control those backups. You can manage device backup from Android settings and review Google’s privacy policy for information about Google’s handling of backup data.

The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to request and display banner ads. According to Google, the SDK may automatically collect and share:

Google states that this information is used for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes and is encrypted in transit using TLS. The ads shown may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and Google’s ad-serving rules.

Where supported, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may also use Android advertising services for ad identification, attribution reporting, and Topics. The Topics API provides coarse-grained interest categories inferred on the device from recent app usage; attribution reporting helps measure when an ad leads to an action. These advertising-service permissions are included by the Google Mobile Ads SDK. You can manage supported advertising privacy features in Android system settings. See Google’s Privacy Sandbox disclosure for AdMob for more information.

The App also uses Google UMP. On launch, UMP contacts Google to determine whether a privacy message or consent form is required and, where applicable, records your choices. Google and participating ad partners process advertising information under their own terms and policies. For more information, see:

The App does not include a separate analytics or crash-reporting service such as Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics. This does not exclude the advertising, analytics, diagnostic, and fraud-prevention processing performed by the Google Mobile Ads SDK itself.

Privacy choices

Where required, Google UMP may ask for your advertising privacy choices before the App requests ads. Available choices depend on your location and the messages configured for the App in Google AdMob.

You can also:

Value Pattern does not sell personal information for money. Google’s use of information for personalized or cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale” under some privacy laws. Use the choices presented by UMP, your Android advertising controls, or Google’s advertising controls to limit that processing where available.

Permissions

The App may request or use these Android permissions:

Motion sensor access does not require a runtime permission on supported Android versions. The App does not request precise or background location, contacts, microphone, or storage permissions. The App does not access camera or motion-sensor data in the background.

Retention and deletion

Value Pattern does not operate an account or backend for the App and therefore has no sensor readings, camera frames, settings, or calibration data to retain or delete from its own systems. Clear the App’s storage or uninstall it to remove this information from the device. To remove a Google-managed Android backup, use your device or Google account backup controls.

Google determines how long it retains information collected through AdMob and UMP. Requests concerning that information should be made using the controls and request methods described in Google’s privacy policy.

International data transfers

Value Pattern does not receive App-feature data. Google may process information collected through AdMob and UMP in countries other than the one where you live, subject to the safeguards described in Google’s policies.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and Value Pattern does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. The App’s advertising configuration does not identify users as children or as under the applicable age of consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party advertising service, contact us and the applicable service provider.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because Value Pattern does not receive App-feature data or maintain App accounts, most requests relating to advertising data must be directed to Google or exercised through Google’s and Android’s privacy controls. You may contact us if you need help identifying the appropriate route for a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the App, its third-party services, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or its store listing when appropriate.
